SACCSS Swimming Carnival

In the final week of Term 1, 27 students competed in the SACCSS Swimming Carnival at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

‪In the lead up to the carnival, students trained at 7am every Thursday at Melton Waves. Their hard work was rewarded with some fantastic swims on the day.

‪I would like to make special mention of our Year 7 and 8 students Arna Maloney, Olivia Dando, Hayley Wright, Malachi Fox, Erin Johnstone and Isabella Debrincat who did the College proud competing for our school in age groups higher than their own.

‪A big thanks also to our swim team captains Alla Rowley and James Morrow who supported and led the students on the day.

‪Congratulations to our individual age group champions (pictured below from left to right): Jack Morrow (14 years),‪ James Morrow (17-20 years), ‪Oliver Dreaver (13 years) and ‪Marlee Leetham (14 years).

‪While all raced exceptionally well, Jack’s swims were outstanding and saw him come first in every race he competed in.

‪CRC Melton also received the following awards on the day: ‪1st Junior Boys; ‪2nd Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Aggregate Junior Level; 3rd Intermediate Girls.

‪Well done to all of our swimmers!

‪I would also like to thank our swimming coach and past student of the College, Jesse O’Rourke for all of her hard work to prepare students for the carnival.
