Weekly Reflection

St Francis Prayer

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

Garden to Plate Initiative

This year a new initiative was started – GARDEN TO PLATE – involving the Work Related Skills VCAL class. Their task was to plant and grow fruits and vegetables for use in their cooking class while investigating topics such as; Work Health and Safety, Communication, Teamwork and Employability skills. The students grew and cooked bok choy, rainbow chard, carrots, snow peas, lettuces, bottled olives and prepared sweet treats with lemons and passionfruit. They also potted up plants for the Mothers' and Fathers' Day stalls. Overall, it was a very successful new program.

Exam Anxiety

As we come to exam time and nearing the end of the year, a number of our autistic students may become overloaded and overwhelmed with all that is happening. I saw this picture on social media and it beautifully illustrates the approach that is necessary to support them if/when they shutdown.
