New Cobblebank Campus

A new era in Catholic secondary education in Melton is about to begin.

Catholic Regional College Melton - Cobblebank Campus will open in January 2023.

It will welcome approximately 150 Year 7 students in its first year and grow to accommodate 1500 Year 7 to 12 students by 2028.

Drawing on the rich history and strong foundations established in the past 40 years at CRC Melton, the College will offer new facilities and educational opportunities for the growing population in Melbourne’s north-west corridor.

Our College is recognised for its focus on faith, wellbeing and inclusive learning pathways – all of which will be offered to a new generation of CRC students at Cobblebank Campus.

Principal’s Message

It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of a second campus of Catholic Regional College Melton.

The College has provided quality Catholic secondary education to families in the western suburbs of Melbourne since 1980. Continued population growth has put considerable pressure on enrolments at the College, located in Bulman’s Road, Melton West.

The exciting development of Cobblebank Campus will see our established wellbeing and learning structures offered in a new contemporary educational space.

Our staff are working closely with architects Baldasso Cortese to develop the master plan for our second campus in Bridge Road, Cobblebank. Stage One will include science facilities, design and technology rooms and collaborative learning areas.

CRC Melton prides itself on providing a welcoming and supportive environment that caters to all students’ needs. Our second campus will embrace this focus to provide students with a faith-based education that develops the whole person.

Marlene Jorgensen - Principal

I look forward to sharing the journey towards 2023 and our new campus with you and your family.

Learning spaces

Our new Cobblebank campus has been designed to complement the Melton South landscape while incorporating our Catholic identity and modern, state-of-the-art facilities.

Stage 1 will feature a two-level, general-purpose building with generous classrooms and breakout zones with varied seating for collaborative learning. Administration offices and a staff room and teacher work areas will also be accommodated. Each level includes 1500 square metres of floor space with flexible, light-filled, co-joined rooms that can be opened to create larger areas.

Our specialist facilities will be housed in a second two-level building with music and drama rooms on the ground floor and science and art facilities on the first floor.

A key design feature of the new College is a landscaped cloister that forms the heart of the school. Surrounded by buildings and pathways, the area provides shelter from the elements and a place for students and staff to meet, talk, learn and gather. A landscaped walking path around the College grounds will also provide students and staff with easy access to all areas of the site.

Stage 1 of construction will enable the College to cater for 600 students with further stages planned as intake progresses.

Stage 2 will see the construction of our senior learning area, student resource centre, creative hub, administration building and further specialist facilities.
